Kosovo Council for the Cultural Heritage - KCCH is an independent agency established in accordance with Article 142 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, based on the Law no. 02 / L-88 On Cultural Heritage. Duties and responsibilities of the KCCH under Law no. 02/L-88 on Cultural Heritage, Law no. 03/L-039 on Special Protective Zones and Law no. 04/L-066 on Historic Centre Prizren are:

• - Revision, adaptation or refusal of cultural heritage proposed by MCYS for proclamation in permanent protection
• - Evaluation of cultural heritage projects submitted by the institutions of relevant fields
• - Establishment of independent committees for the evaluation of cultural heritage in cases of purchase-selling, expropriations and other financial compensations
• - Identify the necessary financial support measures for cultural heritage
• -Identification of the necessary measures of financial support for cultural heritage
• -Re-evaluation or revision of the Historic Protection Centre of Prizren
• -Cooperation with the Implementation and Monitoring Council regarding cultural and religious heritage under the Law on Special Protective Zones
