Shtëpi banimi (ish Akademia e Shkencave dhe Arteve)

The house dates since the 19th century and represents a rare example of the old civic residence architecture. The data indicate that the house was one of the many hostels in Prishtina. It was owned by Tefik Rushi Mirash and Domaniku family. During the years 1964-1965, due to extensive damage, the whole building was reconstructed with new material. During these interventions few changes took place due to new function (entry stairs, separating walls), adobes are replaced with blocks and the yard was fixed. The original building was divided into two independent entireties with separate entrances. After the reconstruction, two separate entireties are united to one complex in order to adapt new function - business premises. Two facades are oriented towards the way, and two other towards the yard. The yard is surrounded by high walls of mud and covered with clay tiles. On the surrounding walls are wooden blinds openings. The building has a P +1 dwelling, with rectangular base. The walls in the basement are massive with 38 cm thickness, built of solid bricks, except two parts of the wall which are from crude stone. Ground floor is closed on both roads and lighting is made by the yard. From the porch on the ground floor through the wooden stairs you enter the lobby of first floor which by the yard side it has a wood fence. The construction of the lobby is based on six authentic pylons placed on concrete pylons, and above they have a wooden cushion. On the floor are 6 spaces which have direct access from the lobby. The floor construction is bondruk filled with porous bricks. The floor in the ground floor is now made of concrete, and on the floor of the painted planks. On the flat, the ceiling is wooden. The premises of this building over a period of time have been used by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo. Based on the Historical, Artistic and Social Values, the Asset Residential House (former Academy of Sciences and Arts) in 2016 was proclaimed in permanent protection by the Kosovo Council for Cultural Heritage.
