KISHA DHE SHKOLLA FILLORE NË GJUHËN SHQIPE NË STUBËLL TË EPËRME

The First Albanian School in Kosovo - St. George's Church is located in the village of Stublla e Eperme, municipality of Vitia. Its history is earlier than the time of its naming, and it is precisely the Saint Luke College, which had started work since 1584. The Albanian school functioned well during the 1846, the year that is engraved in the interior of abscess over a vineyard. Educational activity as the first genuine Albanian school has been developed since 1868 with Dom Mikeli as a teacher. Meanwhile from Austro-Hungary it was formalized in 1905, with the teacher Dom Mikel Tarabulluzi. St. George's Church, otherwise known as the First Albanian School in Kosovo, is built on a sloping ground where the basement and ground floor is constructed. The building is located in the west - east direction and has a plan meter in the form of letter L. Entrance to the basement where the prayer room is located is made from the south side, through two separate entrances, one for the priests and the other for believers. The hall has three windows on the southern side and two on the east side. The apse is located on the north wall, next to which is the chancel. From the entrance of the priests, the hall is divided by two pillars, which hold an arch wall, whereas another division between the chancel and the rest of the hall is improvised with two columns without chapiter. The chancel and the table of chancel are dotted with elaborate stones. Likewise, the apse is also decorated with a crutch of colours which are example of Mother Teresa's headscarf. Entry into the ground floor is done by the gateway to the west, where corridor with three pillars is located. The corridor itself has a form of a semicircle, apparently an apse from the west. In the ground floor there are several halls that have served for students as classrooms, for religious leaders of the church and at the same time for the leaders of the school. The building is constructed with stones connected with limestone. It is covered by a two-gutter roof, which follows the entire plan metre. In the west part of the square is the church bell covered with four-gutter roof. In the church yard is the monument of Don Mikel Tarabuluzi, as well as a monument dedicated to Martyrs of Karadak (1846-1848). Based on historical, artistic, social, scientific and spiritual values, the church asset and primary school in Albanian language in Stublla e Eperme in 2016 has been proclaimed in permanent protection by the Kosovo Council for Cultural Heritage.
